Intramural Fall 2014 - Spring 2015

Spring season will begin in mid to late March 2015.

Intramural soccer is a great way to introduce the game of soccer. Games are played each Sunday at the Waverly Avenue soccer complex.

New Coaches are always needed. Please volunteer when you register your child.

Sachem has entered into a partnership with Challenger Sports to provide professional training to all Intramural Players and is included in your registration. Coaches are required to bring their teams down to their age group practices each week and will follow an age appropriate curriculum designed by Challenger. Coaches will run the session and Trainers will oversee the Coaches and curriculum execution. Occasionally, the Trainers will step in and run the session if needed to help the Coach and Players. Coaches are encouraged, but not required, to hold an additional practice on their off day with their team.

The mandatory, age group specific, practice days are as follows;

Mon: Tryout based Select program
Tue: Girls U7 5-6p Boys U7 6-7p
Wed: Girls U8 6-7p Boys U8 5-6p
Fri: Girls U6 6-7p Boys U6 5-6p
Sat: Girls U5 9:30 - 10:30a Boys U5 10:30 - 11:30a
(times will be adjusted when daylight issues begin)

On game day, all children must wear their SYSL uniform purchased directly from Olympic Den in Lake Ronkonkoma. The uniform includes a reversible jersey, shorts, and soccer socks. In addition, children must wear sneakers or soccer cleats and shin pads.

NO Jewelry of any kind can be worn. No exceptions for newly pierced ears.

Rising Stars / Future Stars Program Fall 2014 Spring 2015

The Future Stars and Rising Stars programs are designed to introduce children to the basic skills of soccer. It is developmental in design, consisting of 30 minute sessions with one trainer per 13 soccer players. The trainers use fun games and props to reinforce soccer skills. Program is run on Sundays. Children need soccer cleats or sneakers and soccer shin guards. No uniforms are needed. You are not permitted to switch sessions. You are required to attend the session you child is registered in.
Thanks and enjoy the program.
